See Virginia - Scotchtown and Patrick Henry's Home

When you're touring the Old Dominion, keep Scotchtown near the top of your tour list.

Located approximately eleven miles from Ashland, Scotchtown is the former home of Patrick Henry.  This remarkable home was built around 1720 by Charles Chiswell.

There are eight large rooms, a central hallway, lower level, and attic.  

May is a great time to tour this very historic home and surrounding area.

Mortgage Rates Move Lower in MBA Survey for Week Ending -May 4th; Avg. Rate is at 4.01%; Refinance Activity Now at a Volume of 72.1 % of Total Mortgage Weekly Activity

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced their most current data (averages for contract interest rates): 

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (FHA Loans) 
= 3.81 %

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (Conforming Loans, less than $417,500)
= 4.01 %

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (Jumbo Loans, greater than $417,500)
= 4.29 %

15 Year Fixed Interest Rate = 3.29 %

The level of refinance activity was reported to be at 72.1 % 
of the total activity for the weekly survey.  The level of
refinance activity for week ending April 27th was 72.6 %.

Mortgage Rates Decline in MBA Survey for Week Ending -April 20th; Avg. Rate is at 4.04%; Refinance Activity Now at a Volume of 73.4 % of Total Mortgage Weekly Activity

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced their most current data (averages for contract interest rates): 

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (FHA Loans) 
= 3.81 % (was 3.83 %);

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (Conforming Loans, less than $417,500)
= 4.04 % (was 4.05 %);

30 Year Fixed Interest Rate (Jumbo Loans, greater than $417,500)
= 4.27 % (was 4.36 %);

15 Year Fixed Interest Rate = 2.81 % (was 2.83 %);

This is the Week for Touring Virginia's Gardens & Historic Properties

Historic Garden Week in Virginia runs today thru Saturday, April 28th.

Located along the James River and approximately 25 miles east of Richmond and west of Williamsburg, Westover is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Fisher.  Westover is one of the charter houses for Historic Garden Week in Virginia.
